Hey, I’M BACK !!
Looking back, Summer 13′ was quite the experience for me, I made some great friends and worked about 550 hours in 3 months. Work and trying to explore Ireland, or at least get out from the hotel I worked in, took most of my time and therefore my blog was sadly a bit stranded. I didn’t plan it but I guess life does get in your way and I can’t promise this #temporary death will never happen again, I’ll just say that I’m now back in my element and hopefully you missed me enough to return to this blog.
So before I dig back into the movie world, I wanted to share my Ireland experience for those who might be interested.. and to be honest, I need to get my writing groove back and it seemed like the right topic to get those fingers typing.
- Ireland is a gorgeous country as far as I know and I was lucky enough to live in county Mayo/Galway – mountains everywhere!
- At first I was impressed by these huge and endless mountains but then I realized that the reason I had no cell reception in the hotel was mainly because of the mountains blocking the signal. Therefore me and the mountains had a complicated relationship.
- Also, this one time this particular mountain pulled a Houdini and disappeared on us:

- I already mentioned the fact that work pretty much stole most of my time: here’s a fun fact, I worked 5 times a week from 9.30 until 19 and I don’t know how you (people who work and blog) get anything done AFTER work. I was beyond tired and when I wasn’t, I didn’t really want to write.
- Needless to say, I have gained a lot of respect for those movie bloggers who have regular jobs: you go, guys!
- But I’m not complaining, my internship experience was grand and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Besides, one of the benefits of working in a spa, in addition to free massages (yes, I did score few of those), is the fact that I do have a lovely office:

- Looking at these pictures I do get a bit emotional, I don’t necessarily miss the job, but I do miss the people and that’s what was so great about this summer, the people were amazing!
- The fact that I made some friends kind of pushed me to be more social and active on my days off, which eventually led me to try out things I never thought I would. Things like riding a horse, archery, snorkeling, sea kayaking, surfing and coasteering.
- I loved surfing and coasteering! And I loved my horse Jimmy who gave me a great ride:

- The two times I visited Galway (a big city), were both bitter sweet – I enjoyed myself so much that I ended up spending too much money. In order to feel less guilty, rather saying that I was shopping, I’m going with – I was investing.
- I also invested in cinema tickets and ended up seeing three movies: Despicable Me 2, This Is the End and We’re the Millers.
- Two were actually really good, especially surprising was We’re the Millers but I’m still waiting for some much needed motivation to write a review about it.
- In the beginning of the summer I barely watched any movies though, but eventually, especially in August, I found some extra time to see Warm Bodies (hated it), Red Dawn (enjoyed it) and What Maisie Knew (loved it).
- When it comes to TV-shows.. well, I have to catch up with EVERYTHING except So You Think You Can Dance (the only reality TV I can stand), The Newsroom and Rookie Blue.
- Now some more pictures to keep the visual flow:

- I tried to keep up with Dexter and True Blood but I still have some episodes to see, even though I already know all about the Skarsgรฅrd dong and his short lived cliffhanger possible death.
- Another thing I barely was able to keep up with was reading movie blogs. I did visit my favorites and took some time to read posts about things that spiked my interest but honestly, I was so bad this summer and I can’t even think about it. PS: I hate the fact that Google Reads is gone.. Everything is just a mess now.
- To make things even worse, I literally read 0 pages of A Storm of Swords – so I still have no idea what happens after the Red Wedding!
- To sum up my summer, I have no recollection of actual days or weeks when I did what, everything is simply one big pile of days. But I do remember that I had fun, a lot of fun and I already miss the people who made my Ireland experience to what it was – a little bit life changing and all in all a good craic!

PS: It feels great to be back!
