We wrap up 2020 with some space / aliens! Seems rather fitting since this entire year has felt like an alien version of its predecessors. We are also ending it on a TV note, which is nice but also a little frustrating. You see I don’t know many space / aliens shows. Most of them I’ve mentioned already anyway. So making this 2020’s last Thursday Movie Picks a bit special and listing three space related shows I still need to see.
3. THE EXPANSE (2015 – …)

Though I have not heard a lot about this show it was listed quite high on a sci-fi list related to today’s theme. Plus I heard from a coworker he watched it so I figured it was a sign to catch up. The fifth season is airing now and it’s already ordered for 6th. That sounds promising. The thing that worries me though is the fact that have so many unfinished shows and a long list of other shows I want to get to. Plus there are many new ones coming out. Still going to give at least its first season a chance.
2. KILLJOYS (2015 – 2019)

Another multi-season show that I’ve been meaning to watch. My roommate actually really likes it so that’s also a good reason to watch it. Its five seasons long so again it’s a big commitment. But it has Aaron Ashmore who I secretly really like, and Luke Macfarlene who I also like and I mean 50 episodes will go by super fast, right? (Says a person who still hasn’t finished watching The Magicians despite loving it and binging almost 3 season worth in a few weeks).
1. FIREFLY (2002 – 2003)

Yes, don’t yell at me, I know I should be ashamed. Firefly is considered one of the best sci-fi shows and I still haven’t seen it. It has only 14 episodes which makes this even worse but it’s high on my list of shows I need to get to. (For many years actually). I just keep waiting for the right time, right place, right mood. I’m sure that right moment will arrive soon, I can almost feel it. But I know that part of the reason I keep putting it off is because it’s one season. It’s going to feel frustrating to have something so good end before its time.
