That is hell of a title for this week’s Thursday Movie Picks and to be completely honest, I’m leaving this to the last minute possible. I literally have an hour (in my time zone) to get this up on the blog so you should be certain that these three movies are the first ones to pop into my head in regards to this week’s theme. By the way, all of them are in my all time sequel wishlist movies, which is a list I didn’t know I had but apparently I do, so here it is.
1. LAGGIES, 2014
This is one of those movies that just stays with you because the main character, Megan (Keira Knightley) is flawed but in a healthy way. Plus, this movie has that kind of an ending which leaves you wanting more and more from these characters and you don’t want to have their story so unfinished. I would definitely see Megan with other struggles, for instance being pregnant and those sorts of things. So yes, I’m greedy and I want more for Megan and Craig, who is played by the always lovely Sam Rockwell. But what I really want is to see more Sam Rockwell doing some sexy stuff.
2. THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E, 2015
What happened with Man From UNCLE was a weird little thing.. the critics attacked it and many of us ended up loving it instead. Apparently it lacked of substance or something but honestly, I can’t see it! It was fun and entertaining, it had a lead character that was mysterious, and then it had a slightly gay lead main character. It was so promising as a franchise as well, which makes it ever so harder to wish for its sequel. Funnily enough though, The Man From UNCLE itself is a reboot.. so technically I’m wishing for a sequel to a reboot and Cavill and Hammer revisiting their roles, yes, thank you!
3. THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE, 2009
So I think I’ve mentioned this documentary like a million times now but here I go again. There’s just something so interesting about the behind the curtain world of fashion and since Vogue is such a big part of that industry, I would love to see more of its world. And frankly, The September Issue had Sienna Miller on the cover and she’s boring as f*ck so I would like to see Another September Issue with a more intriguing cover star. Plus, it would be interesting to see how the current state of American politics affects the magazine and how the representation of all women is still problematic etc. There is just so much to show and share and I’m a nosy person so I need to know these things!
